When the Print Center procured a printer with specialty ink capabilities, the first order of business was to create designs that could be used to promote these services. Each poster design was versioned with various color separations so the Print Center could explore the new capabilities and log the different print results for future client recommendations and reference. The Geometric Panther used various opacities of gold metallic overprinting several color options. The mermaid poster used clear ink to highlight the water, leaving the banner a paper texture. Various gold and silver metallic overlays were used to produce different printing results. The Top Dead Center posters were designed specifically for the automotive program at Portland Community College. It was printed in fifty different color variations for the purpose of learning the new ink capabilities while simultaneously providing promo posters and fliers.
